The new Chanel cruise collection was unveiled on the roof of the iconic Cit&eacute; Radieuse, shining a light on the vibrant culture of Marseille.

Virginie Viard, the creative force behind Chanel, drew inspiration from the city's buzzing energy, saying, &ldquo;Marseille is a city that puts me in touch with my emotions. I tried to capture its power of attraction, its breath of fresh air, and to convey the energy that reigns here.&rdquo; The collection had a sense of freedom and fluidity, echoing the city's dynamic spirit.
Taking cues from Marseille's striking brutalist architecture, the collection showed dynamic, energizing, and fresh pieces. Graphic tweeds in bright lime green and sleek concrete gray, pearl encrusted trims, and scuba style motifs were all over the collection. Open knits and grid-like patterns mimicked the geometry of the colorful Cit&eacute; Radieuse itself. Pieces were infused&nbsp; with an essence of the everyday through oversized jackets and jersey fabrics, a nod to the ease of summer. Slick neoprene, swimwear, and nautical motifs accented the collection, giving us a touch of the sea and wind of Marseille itself. A vibrant energy radiated through the runway and resonated with the city.&nbsp;
Before the runway, guests were invited to wander the famous Le Corbusier building, taking in the pop-up gallery exhibiting Jamie Hawkesworth&rsquo;s photo documentary of the women of Marseille, and the Chanel radio station hosted by Caroline de Maigret. The show, along with the brand&rsquo;s pop-ups and takeover of MUCEM (the Museum of Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean) spots all over the city has again solidified Chanel&rsquo;s power as a cultural patron.
